Bulletin Board Resources

Bulletin Boards help convey an internal message for residents. They help create community and establish new information that is useful and or necessary for them to know. Each month your bulletin board should contain a new specific message. You as the Resident Assistant is to be creative as possible yet still provide the intentional information for your residents.

August/September

Informational Welcome Board
Residents Assistants choosing to participate in the Kick-Off bulletin board contest will create a bulletin board with their own information either about campus or the local community to welcome students at the beginning of the academic year.  The staff member who can create the best informational welcoming bulletin board will be recognized at the September In-Service and receive a special award!

October

Title IX Bulletin Board
Resident Assistants choosing to participate in the October Bulletin Board Monthly contest can use either of the two provided bulletin boards on Title IX/Sexual Assault Awareness and "bling them up" creatively. The best bulletin board will be recognized at the October In-Service and receive a special award.

November

Stress Relief Board
This is a crucial time of the year where residents will be taking exams, signing up for new classes, figuring out if they want to come back next semester ect. This board is to serve as a stress relieving board to help them to take a minute and stop, breathe, and then move forward. Think about something that is very stress relieving and make it a board.

January

Student Leadership Board
January is the month to get involved. Residents go through their first semester experiencing things and now that its second semester their ready to get their toes wet and take on new positions or roles. The leadership board should provide the different resources that Saint Leo and the Community provide in a creative way.

Housing Selection Board
Housing is hard to understand unless you have handouts and visuals that are very detailed. Picking housing is a process that everyone has to go through and instead of constantly being stopped to answer questions the board will come in great use. The housing Information will be provided, you as the Resident Assistant will just have to be creative in presenting the information instead of just print outs.

Philanthropy Board
There are so many things in the world to support and or to educate residents on. Philanthropy goes hand in hand with Saint Leo's core value responsible stewardship. This board will have to support a cause/initiative and educate residents about it. Some examples would be Paws of Love, Up Till Dawn, Go Green, etc.

April

Spring Closing Board
Closing time is the last board of the year. Residence Life wants to have effective check outs but also have the residents feeling good about their year in the hallway. This board will need to contain closing information along with a closing message that will sum up their past year.
