For Winning:
The Office of Residence Life was excited to send a
delegation of 12 RA’s and 2 advisors to the Florida Resident Assistant
Symposium (FRAS) February 7th-9th to
represent Saint Leo University against 25 other colleges and universities from
division rivals (such as Lynn University, Rollins College and the Florida
Institute of Technology) to large Universities (including the University of
Florida, Florida State University and the University of Central Florida).
The Saint Leo delegation proposed and were selected to present nine
presentations at this statewide conference and won the top programming awards
in two of the four presentation categories and five of the twelve possible
presentation awards, an impressive achievement considering there were 60
presentations at the conference and nearly 300 delegates and advisors in
attendance. Additionally, the Saint Leo delegation won Overall
Philanthropy for the third year in a row (this year for collecting pop tabs to
support Ronald McDonald House charities) and the coveted overall conference
trophy the “Spirit Cup” for a second year against fierce competition for
networking, involvement, pride and enthusiasm throughout the event.
Saint Leo University won the following awards:
1st Place in the Life After College
presentation category for “Kid President” by Beverley Digiacobbe and Jennifer
Meyer
2nd Place in the Life After College
